In 1928, Portland Mayor Sidney Guthrie dedicated an athletic field at what is now Community Park which became home to many local teams like the Portland Beavers (now known as the Eugene Emeralds), Foresters (now defunct), Blazers (now known as the Salem-Keizer Blazers) and Cyclones (now defunct). In 1939, Forrest J Ackerman donated land east of SE 122nd Avenue to create what is now McKnight Park which also became home to many local team like USO Field Hockey Team from 1946 until 1951 when it moved west to Beaverton; afterwards it changed hands several times before becoming part of nearby Morrison Ranch where it remains today as part of McCallum Park Golf Course with its own tennis courts and amphitheater; this gives you an idea about how things have evolved over time! In 1950, ForestGrove annexed much of neighboring Morrison Ranch which had been purchased by businessman Milton Satterfield from farmers who were landless during World War II due to government rationing policies that prohibited ownership of personal firearms by citizens under military service age because these weapons were deemed essential for agricultural production...thus FOREST GROVE NAMED ITSELF A CITY! In 1912, Forest Grove lost its status as an incorporated city but continued to operate as a part of Multnomah County until 1974 when it merged into Portland. In 1924, Forest Grove made history when it became the first municipality in Oregon to adopt zoning regulations that banned all types of smoking in all public places within its boundaries. This policy was designed to prevent smokers from using forest groves as locations where they could smoke cigars and cigarettes without having their activities observed by non-smokers.
