In the early 1900s, both Dallas and Oregon were thriving cities with large amounts of industry. Gunmakers and holster manufacturers poured their efforts into creating high-quality firearms holsters for the civilian market. The popularity of handguns led to the development of more versatile sidearms, which necessitated new holster designs. With pistols now being available in a variety of calibers, holster manufacturers had to create different holster styles for each type of firearm. One such company was Garand Holsters, which developed the firstIWB holster in 1907. This design allowed owners to carry their handguns appendix-fashion without having them dig into their hips like traditional carriers did. Garand Holster's success made them one of the largest distributors of handguns and holsters in America. The company also became well known for its quality products, receiving numerous awards from shooters and knife enthusiasts alike. By 1922, however, Garand Holster had become embroiled in a legal dispute with Colt Firearms over control of US handgun manufacturing quotas. This struggle cost the company its dominance in the American handgun market and resulted in it going bankrupt that year. However, thanks to new investors who helped revive it shortly thereafter, Garand Holster reemerged as one of America's leading gunmakers by 1930. In fact, it would remain so until sales declined following World War II and then plummeted during the 1960s due to social change (i.e., Civil Rights Movement). Nevertheless, through all these tumultuous timesGarandHolsters survived intact until 1984 when it merged with another gunmaker to form Browning Arms Corporation

Dallas, Oregon was founded in 1877 as a town in the Rogue Valley. It became an agricultural center and grew rapidly during the late 1800s. The city limits were increased to include Oregon City in 1912 and Eagle Rock in 1916. Dallas was named for General George C. Marshall, who served as United States Secretary of War from 1951-1957
Dallas, Oregon is a small town in the Cascade Mountains of southeastern Oregon. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lane County, Oregon metropolitan area. The first people to live here were the Umatilla Indians who had a village on a high plateau near what is now Dallas. For many years it was thought that this place was named after General James K. Polk because he and his army fought in the Battle of Dallas in 1846. In fact, there are several places around this area with similar names but no connection to Polk- one being Salem, Oregon which may have been named for him as well. In 1853, James Waddell arrived from California and began homesteading in what is now northwest Dallas on land that he had bought from John Dayhoffer. Waddell's brother-in-law Moses Taylor also came to help build homes and start a dairy industry hereabouts around 1854 or 1855. In 1865, Charles Goodyear founded the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company hereabouts after leaving his native Italy where he had started an industrial tire manufacturing business some 20 years earlier. With its growing population and demand for goods made in America (related to rapid rail travel), new businesses soon cropped up all over town: two general stores opened by 1886; three grocery stores open by 1890; four enterprises (dry goods store, piano shop, dry cleaning establishment) by 1896; six restaurants by 1902; tenivery stable in 1907; post office building built 1915-16; Masonic Temple built 1923/24; community hall built 1935/36). Many of these early businesses still stand today including: two general stores (one closed 1990s), three grocery stores (one closed 1994), four restaurants (closed 1990s), five post offices (closed 2006), six community halls (closed 1990s-2005 only), seven banks - one went bankrupt 1975 while another reopened 1998 (!); all except one bank have since been defunct or converted into housing developments!

Dallas, Oregon was founded on July 4, 1847 by James Fenton and his wife Emily. The town was named for the Dallas Ranch in Texas. The first post office in the town was established on December 12, 1849. By 1860, the population of Dallas had increased to 100 residents. On October 15, 1861, a General Election was held in Dallas and John A. Hutton won election as Mayor with over 50% of the vote. The first school in Dallas opened in January 1862. In 1865, a sawmill and gristmill were built in the town and by 1870, there were 10 businesses operating in Dallas. In 1898, a railroad station was built at the edge of downtown Dallas and it served as an important transportation link between Portland andDallas until 1915 when it closed down due to financial problems.
