However, with the rise of women shooters, there has been an increase in people looking to learn how to sling a firearm. In fact, according to Shooters Resource Center (SRC), there are now over 2,000 clubs and organizations that offergun slingshooting lessons for all levels of shooters. One of the earliest Gun Slinging Clubs in Dallas was founded by two friends in 1922. At its peak membership numbered over 100 people! Today’s Gun Slinging Club members range from amateurs to experienced shooters who are interested in learning this ancient sport. The popularity ofGun Slinging has only grown since then as more and more people come together to enjoy this unique form of shooting which can be enjoyed by all ages!

Dallas, Oregon is a small town in the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge located in Josephine County, Oregon. It was founded on July 10, 1887 by Captain H.C. Beall and his wife Mrs. Jane Beall as a station on the Central Pacific Railway system between Portland and Seattle. The Bealls named their first post "Dallas" for Dallas, Texas which they had visited while on their railway journey. In 1912 the town became an incorporated village under the name of Ephrata with its own school board and sheriff's department. It was renamed Dallas again in 1927 when it became part of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge after being added to that area as part of the refuge's creation from land formerly belonging to Josephine County and Jackson County. The population of Dallas peaked at around 100 residents in 1940 but declined rapidly thereafter due to various factors including World War II military activity within the wildlife refuge, disease outbreaks within the surrounding community, and other economic problems plaguing small towns during this time period. By 1957 only a few people remained in Dallas and it officially ceased operation as an unincorporated community on October 1 that same year. Dallas is now known primarily for its local history museum which features exhibits about local farmers, ranchers, miners, settlers & ranch hands who were instrumental in shaping Dallas into what it is today; as well as historical photos and artifacts from throughout its past

In 1871, Dallas, Oregon was founded by members of the American West. The town was named for Major George Washington Dallas, who had settled in Oregon in 1849. In 1865, when the U.S. acquired Oregon from Spain, it also gained a ranch and townsite called Fort Worth and Fort Lewis. A post office was established at Dallas in 1870, and a school was started in 1872. The first store opened in 1880. By 1907, the town had a population of 100 people and included a hotel, bank and sawmill. In 1911-12, an important gold rush occurred in the area; many miners came to the town to prospect for gold but never returned home because of high prices for silver ore. By 1915-16, there were only 10 residents left inDallasand most of them were working at the sawmill or contributing to local charities. The last resident died in 1918; during World War I there was no active military activity around Dallas so development stopped until after World War II when oil started to flow through nearby Highway 99 and new businesses sprang up around the refinery on East Seventh Street that still exists today
