The history of gun targets in Coos Bay, Oregon can be traced back to the early 1870s. At that time, guns were not as commonplace as they are today and there was not a lot of demand for target shooting services. That didn't mean that people didn't want to shoot at things; rather, they just lacked the means to do so. One way that people enjoyed firing at things was by using small animal targets. These targets were made out of cloth or paper and would be shot at from a distance with a bow or arrows. The results weren't always perfect, but they usually provided some interesting entertainment for those who participated in the activity.
Coos Bay, Oregon is a small town located in Curry County, Oregon. The population was 953 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Portland metropolitan area. In 1998, Coos Bay became one of only two communities in the United States to be designated as an International Coastal Area by UNESCO. The name "Coos" comes from the Chinook word "koo", meaning place or lot. The bay was named for Captain George Vancouver's Discovery Expedition in 1792-3 when he and his ships visited present day Coos Bay on their way back from a mapping expedition across North America. The first Europeans to visit Coos Bay were French missionaries who journeyed downriver from Fort Détroit in 1795-6. They built a mission near present day Milligan Beach along with some smaller buildings and set about farming Mission Rd., which runs east/west through town today. The mission was abandoned in 1812-13 after disagreements over governance within the new missions system among various Pacific Northwest groups led by Joseph Banks, second lieutenant aboard HMS Erebus during Britain's discovery and circumnavigation of Australia (1801). A ghost story has been told for many years about an Indian girl who died at the mission while trying to escape white men's clutches during this time period; her haunting remains can still be seen around town today crossing Mission Rd., near where she purportedly fell victim to rape and murder by white settlers several times over her short life...In 1864, when Congress created Curry County, Oregon out of parts of Multnomah County south of Salem, it included all or part of what are now Coos Bay, Anacortes andocktOWNs west of Umpqua River - so named because they lay adjacent to Spanish land grants granted by King Philip IV of Spain between 1776 and 1787." After much discussion among local leaders about whether or not to establish a school district as mandated by state law following passage of that same year’s education bill (the School District Act), General John Stark decided on Nov 6th 1866 that there would be no school district established until “some proper house had been erected for public use” within town limits – thus giving rise eventually to our current downtown business district situat ion! A citizens committee was appointed July 21st 1870 with Mayor James Hickey as chairman to develop plans for Town Hall which opened September 3rd 1871 – thanks largely too General Stark’s vision being realized including fundraising funds raised via sales tax levied on lumber exported throughout county!" Today we enjoy beautiful views both inland & out towards Milligan Beach & Cannon Beach

The Coos Bay area of Oregon was first settled by the Native American people in the late 17th century. The first European to visit the area was Captain James Clark in 1803, who mapped and named the bay after his friend and mentor, Sir George Vancouver. In 1819, Congress passed an act providing for a census of Native Americans living within ten miles of Portland, which revealed that there were over 100 such individuals in Coos Bay. In 1861, following Oregon’s admission into the United States as a state, Fort Clatsop was built on what is now called Race Point Peninsula adjacent to Coos Bay. The fort served as a military post and warehouse until 1898 when it fell into disrepair and was abandoned. In 1912, government officials decided to demolish the fort and its accompanying structures in order to create an open space for agricultural use. However, this decision sparked public protest which led to the creation of the nearby Community Park at Race Point Peninsula. Since its establishment as a community parklet in 1912, Coos Bay has enjoyed considerable growth and development. Today, it is one of Oregon’s most popular tourist destinations with its picturesque coastline and diverse cultural attractions. Many famous Portland-area landmarks are also located within easy reach of town – including Multnomah Falls (a 15-minute drive), Pioneer Courthouse Square (just east of downtown), Aspen Court House (on Aspen Drive), Mount Hood National Monument (just northwest of town) and more. In addition, many small businesses have located in or near Coos Bay because it is certain to offer excellent quality products at reasonable prices!
The first European to visit Oregon was Captain James Cook in 1778. The area now known as Oregon was part of the French colony of Louisiana until 1803, when it was acquired by the United States. In 1851, the U.S. Congress passed the Donation Land Act, which provided land for American settlers in what is now Oregon and California. The region became a part of the United States in March 1853 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed legislation creating the state of Oregon from parts of California and Nevada.
