Today, CentralPoint remains a tiny town with a population under 1,000 people and is home to only one store, which sells local foods and services. Despite its size, however, CentralPoint has made important contributions to Oregon history including serving as both the birthplace and home village for Oregon Governor Neil Goldwater (1948-1953) and Olympian track coach Bob Hayes (1975-1978).
