Central Point is one of the oldest settlements in Oregon and has been inhabited by Native Americans since the late 1700s. The first white settlers arrived in 1848 and began trading with the local tribe for goods and services. By 1860, Central Point had become a small post office with a population of just over 100 people. In 1868, Central Point became part of what would become known as the Pacific Northwest Territory and experienced rapid growth due to its strategic location onOregon's Northwestern border. By 1890, Central Point had reached its peak as an agricultural center with large fields used for growing crops such as wheat, corn, oats, potatoes, apples and other fruits. However, during World War II Central Point was bombed by Japanese planes which destroyed much of the town's infrastructure. After the war ended in 1945, CentralPoint experienced a significant revitalization that included new construction including a hospital and several businesses such as banks and grocery stores. The use of sights also allowed for more accurate reloading as well as making it easier for shooters to acquire targets quickly while still ensuring accuracy. The design of sights has varied over time, but typically they consisted of a finder scope (a piece of optics that attaches directly to the barrel) and an objective lens (a piece of glass or metal that projects what is seen through it). A finder scope typically had two lenses: one focused on the center circle inside the objective lens and another focused on an edge around the periphery This created four possible sighting points: off-axis, near-by, far-off, or zero degrees from horizontal. To adjust your aim using these points you would move your body until you could align your crosshair with either one of the two focusers located in front or behind the finder scope. In addition to adjusting your aim by moving your body, other factors such as windage (the angle at which light is being scattered throughout space), elevation (the angle at which objects are placed above or below ground), and reticle alignment were also important when using sighting marks on gunsights during early firearm development. Most shooters today rely fully upon digital cameras and software programs to maintain fine targeting information while shooting at ranges up to 100 yards long; however older rifle sights can still be found in selectgun matches across North America.
