Central Point is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. The population was 981 at the 2010 census. Central Point is located on Oregon Route 97 between the towns of Medford and Bend. Oregon Route 97 runs through the heart of Central Point, providing access to both Benton and Polk counties. It forms a natural corridor connecting these counties and provides a main route for commuters travelling between Portland and Eugene. The first settler in Central Point was John Nuttall in 1876. He purchased land east of what is now town square from the local Indians and built a log cabin there. Nuttall became one of the early settlers in what would become Central Point. In 1886, he married Anna Maria (née French) and they moved to their current home onstate road 97 near what is now the courthouse. Anna Maria died about 1893; Johnnutt continued to live there until his death in 1915. In 1907, Harry Hite bought some of Nuttall's land west of central square from John Nuttall's widow AnnaMaria for $3 per acre ($ today). Hite began building homes here starting with two small scattered dwellings called "Hites" in 1909 which he named after himself and his wife Emily Hite-Lambert (1872-1957). By 1912, he had erected 11 houses including three frame buildings that are still standing: One on State Road 97 across from the old school house (now a private residence), another on Umpqua Boulevard just south of town square, and another on State Road 197 just south of where Main Street meets Umpqua Boulevard today (the newer house remains standing as part of Old Central POINT Historic District).

This seminal advance in firearm technology allowed soldiers and police officers around the world to shoot accurately at moving targets without fear of being dazzled or blinded by bright light sources such as headlights or searchlights

Many prominent citizens of CentralPointe have gone on to make significant contributions to Oregon society- including Pacific Northwest entrepreneur Halsey Perry; business mogul Milton Bradley; and football coach Jack Tramiel- both before and after their retirement from professional football careers. Furthermore, many residents of CentralPointe have played major roles in shaping local communities throughout their lives- such as long-time resident Don Youngblood who has been influential in developing Easternmost Portland into one of the most vibrant cities in America today.
