In early 2018, a new business park called "The Grist Mill" opened up near Town Center which will house more than 25 businesses including 3 breweries - Allagash Brewery, Portland Brewing Company and Widmer Brothers Brewery - as well as restaurants such as Joes Pizza & Tapas and Grain Belt BBQ restaurant. Oregon State Route 97 passes through canby providing access to both rural areas east of town (the Wasco Hills) and urban areas west of town (Douglas City). Highway 97 also provides access to Interstate 5 where it intersects US 101 south of town before continuing northeast into Oregon County
