After finding no significant water resources they abandoned their exploration efforts and returned home. In 1906-07, Eugene Condon organized a group of businessmen to develop what would become known as "the urban belt" around Bend including areas near downtown that still retain some core elements of pioneer culture such asadrassa (a type of bread dough) baking contests held every year at Pioneer Hall during Festival week; plus saloons (the first one being built on First Street), groceries (Pioneer Supply Co.), hardware stores (Aluminum Company Store), post office (beginning service on October 5th 1896), dance halls/cafés/bars (several opened up during 1906-1907 season), movie theater (Oregon Theatre), Laundromat/Diner etcetera... This new wave of development created much needed jobs for local residents while also spurring civic activity within town which helped promote redevelopment adjacent streetscape following 1915 fire... The city's newest addition is its light rail system which opened on September 12th 2015 with stops at Central Station and Eastgate Mall

Early settlers were mainly Native Americans who hunted buffalo and other animals here until they discovered rich deposits of coal and gold near what is now Seattle during their explorations in 1855-1857. Soon afterCongress granted ownership of this area to Benton County (now Multnomah County) for settlement by American citizens claiming title to land eastward from Yakima River which lay within Washington Territory then under Mexico’s control following America’s victory over Mexicano forces at Buena Vista on December 8th, 1850 (the “Battle of Buena Vista”). This area around present day Bend became known as “The Gilded Age Area” because so much wealth had been accumulated here during this time period during America’s heyday as a nation/country while her enemies – Mexico – languished impoverished under Spanish rule thanks largely to Genocidal policies pursued by President Polk following America’s successful entry into World War I against Spain (July 4th 1918). In spite of increased competition from industry northeastward along Interstate 5 throughout most of The Gilded Age Area due to new transportation technologies such as railroadroads and automobiles available only after World War II when production resumed inside those borders; agricultural production continued escalating rapidly across all regions due mostly to natural causes including periodic droughts caused by changes in precipitation patterns tomatoes arecvarsinearlywinter:Climate change looms large even today
