He named it Nootka Sound after Chief Joseph Nootka who had been involved in leaving provisions for stranded ships at Ketchikan Island near modern day Seattle before sailing back upriver towards Alert Bay on July 24, 1796. In 1887, John Tilton established Tillamook Forest Products Company which became one of largest lumber companies in United States history with mills at Tillamook Heights (now Union Station) & Dalles Junction until its acquisition by International Paper Corporation in 1970s & 1980s #1 plywood producer Deming & Tillamook #2 paper producer Frome — all based around Millstream Drive today’s Willamette Boulevard corridor south into downtown Beaverton! Oregon City was incorporated as a city on December 14th 1893 under charter number 10653 from Multnomah County following passage by voters of an ordinance imposing limits on incorporation because Of “the great assemblage [of] German people who have heretofore resided without limit or restriction within our limits” according to mayor JF Ellinghausen himself! Incorporation Limits: 1) No more than twenty thousand citizens could be represented therein 2) Aldermen were limited to six years terms 3) No Tamworth citizens could serve upon any committee 4) no women were allowed as officials 5) Streets leading into town were two feet wide minimum while streets leading outwere three feet wide maximum 6) All property within city limits was subject to taxation 7) Citizens were not allowed inside council chambers except for members meeting thereon 8 ) There was no jail ownable by citizens
