That year also saw the opening of the first school in Beaverton – La Salle School #1 on SE Second Street NE which served children from families living around town (including some old Asotin Estate homes). In 1904-05 Portland City Councilor John Atherton built what remains one of Beaverton's most famous landmarks – AtherTON's Storefront Building – atSW Fourth Avenue andNW 10th CourtNW (now Morrison Ave.). This neoclassical structure was designed by noted architect George Heckscher and built with donations from AtherTON family members John Honeyman Jr., wife Martha (née Athertons), daughters Elinore ("Nellie") Honeyman (1896-1985) and Nancie ("Nan" Heckscher), son-in-law Harry Laughlin (1902-1986) and others during their careers at Heckscher Architects Inc.. The store closed in 1957 but has been preserved as part of PSU's Beaversville Mall district since 1978...AtherTON's Storefront Building served as home to PSU’s School of Architecture until it moved to Morrision Ave./Eighth St./Oregon Convention Center/South Hall Blvd afterwards...On November 5th 1998 marks 125 years since AtherTON’s Store front Building opened!

Beaverton is an important cultural center in Oregon because it provides access to many unique attractions statewide including art galleries throughout downtown; theaters such as The Arts District; music venues such as Orpheum Theatre; restaurants such as Thai Express; breweries including Victory Brewing Company;and Hasseltine Chocolate Café - all located within or near downtown。
