Gun grips are a common part of firearms, and their history can be traced back to the early 1800s. Beginning in earnest in 1827, gunsmiths began designing and constructing handguns with grip fittings. The most common type of grip at the time was an all-steel affair, but there were also wooden grips and RubberMatrix grips available. The first pistols made with these new grip fittings were those designed by Captain John Sibley of the USS Constitution (1797-1845). These pistols featured traditional style triggers, but the trigger guard was fitted with a notch that allowed for Glock type triggers to be installed. After Captain Sibley’s design came other designers who followed in his footsteps and produced similar firearms with incorporation of trigger guards. Among these early muzzleloader guns were those designed by Daniel Boone (1775-1846) which featured hand-operated pump action mechanisms using pistol barrels as stocks. In 1853, Dragoons Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer used a rifle he had purchased from Major General Winfield Scott for his regiment during their campaign against Native Americans in Montana. This rifle was known as “Custer” after Custer’s cavalry commander, General Philip Sheridan (1800-1885). Aftermarket companies soon began producing rifles incorporating firearm grips into them as part of a carbine/rifle configuration that became popularized by Cavalry officers during World War I. A number of different methods were used to attach military grips onto rifles including screws, rivets, hot wire welding and even dental braces! During World War II many American soldiers serving overseas brought home firearms they had acquired while fighting overseas. Many of these weapons were converted into shotguns or assault rifles utilizing stock modifications such as Anderson stocks or Pistol Grip turrets etc., but eventually some guns retaining their original pistol grip mechanism ended up being designated Assault Rifles!

Mormon missionaries who had been working near Mount Hood saw an opportunity to open up what were then high mountain country to farming after they arrived at Fort Hall during winterquarters 1842-43. When they reported back tosurgeons at Fort Hall, they recommended that this large piece of land lying west of wherethey were located be explored because it appeared uninhabited." Ashleytown grew out of their efforts – two men named John Ashley and Hezekiah Howard bought 640 acres (248 hectares) east of present dayAshleytown from David Rice for $10 per acre ($4 million today). The site would eventually become home to about 4 miles (6 km) of railroad tracks before later becoming developed into an agricultural center known as Ashley Valley with over 100 farmers cultivating 3 million bushels (1 hectare) or more of crops per year..In 1902 Hyrum Sprague donated $5,000 towards building the now-defunct Sprague Sawmill Complex on what is now Sprague Boulevard.- In 1914 developer A J Goodrich purchased 120 acres (49 hectares) along Willamette River north of present dayAshleytown for $3 per acre ($2 million today). This ledtoGoodrich Land Company which built several housing estates including Goodrich Park which still stands today acrossfrom Main Street

Ashland, Oregon is a city in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States. The population was 21,711 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Multnomah County. The name comes from the Ashland Creek which runs through town. The first people to live in what is now Multnomah County were the Nisqually and Duwamish tribes. In 1848, they built a trading post on the confluence of the Willamette and Ashland creeks in what is now downtown Ashland. They called their settlement "Ashland" because of the ash trees that grew nearby. In 1862, James Ashley founded an agricultural flour mill on a tributary of Ashland Creek near present-day downtown Ashland. In 1865, he discovered gold near where he had built his mill and became one of the first Americans to find gold in Oregon. He named his new discovery "Ashland" after his hometown in Scotland. In 1872, Portland Mayor George Smith ordered all businesses within city limits closed because of a strike by labor unions seeking better wages than those prevailing in other parts of America at that time. As a result of this action, many small businesses closed up shop or moved out of town as well; however, some continued to operate thanks to their owners' quick thinking and enterprise. One such business was J C Whitney's grocery store which was located across from City Hall on Second Avenue until it burned down in 1901 during local violence over control of grocery prices This event has been acknowledged as one of Multnomah County's earliest examples of community activism and its role in sparking later protests against corporate greed
Ashland, Oregon was founded in 1847 by Captain Augustus Herriman and his wife Sarah. The town grew up around the Ashland Hotel, which was built in 1851. In 1865, the United States became a republic, and American president Abraham Lincoln declared Ashland to be the new country's capital. The city grew rapidly during Reconstruction era until it reached its peak in the late 1800s when over 30 businesses were located on Market Street. By 1920, however, population had decreased to about 10 people and most of the commercial activity ceased. The area now known as Ashland was first settled by Native Americans who hunted game near what is now downtown Ashland. European settlers arrived in small groups beginning in the early 1800s and began developing land hereabouts. On April 12, 1847,Captain Augustus Herriman purchased 640 acres at what is now Northeast Sixth Avenue from John Day for $1 per acre.
