Today there are several small towns located throughout Yakutat County including Whitehorse, Aniak Bayou/Pelly Lake, Copper Cliff/Nome and North Pole Village; while larger settlements exist at Dawson City (the seat of government) and Nome (the largest city). These smaller towns provide local services such as grocery stores, libraries, schools and health clinics; while larger settlements offer more advanced amenities such as casinos or professional sports teams.
