In addition to serving as Mayor of Woodward during some very difficult times such as during the oil crisis which hit OKC hard in the early 1990s; John Pryce also played an important role as Chairman of Trustee for Tulsa State University from its establishment through 2003 until his death in 2007; specifically drafters and passage of Senate Bill 21 which created Tulsa State University Campus Services Corporation effective December 1st 2003 that remains one of annual highlights at OSU today The first post office opened at this location on November 3rd 1907 with six mailboxes! A building still stands housing these postal personnel within it today which makes it one of only a few remaining buildings associated with this period in local history! One interesting note about this building is that it still holds records for being both the smallest post office ever built up to that time when it opened and also having the lowest average daily traffic volume! Another interesting fact about this building is that it housed what became known locally as "The Wagon Wheel" restaurant/bar which functioned extensively throughout most of World War II due to its proximity to Iwo Jima battlefield where troops were fighting!!!

Today, Woodward is an thriving community with many interesting attractions including a Downtown Arts District filled with art galleries, theaters and restaurants; two parks - Midtown Park located on Main Street between Third Street and Fourth Street; and Sperry University Hospital located off Interstate 35 just south of downtown.

In 1916, the Oklahoma State Legislature passed an act that established the University of Oklahoma at Woodward as one of the state's four institutions of higher learning. The university remained in operation until 1915 when it merged with the University of Oklahoma at Tulsa to form the OU School of Mines and Technology.
