Since then various other measures have been put into place attempting to prevent firearm accidents or misuse including registration requirements for Gun Ownership certificates; licensing for carry permit holders; financial restraints on manufacturers of handguns; limits on how much ammunition can be sold per month; increased funding for research into handgun safety issues; creating education campaigns about responsible gun play;and increasing consumer awareness about available firearm laws around the world (Ferguson et al.). Some of these measures have had mixed results while others have worked perfectly (Watson et al.). One important thing to remember is that each attempt at Gun Control has had its own unique goals/objectives which must be considered when making decisions about whether or not it is effective.

The Comprehensive Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (CCCSA) was signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson on April 27th, 1968 after three days of negotiations between him and Mayor Richard Mapplethorpe of New York City over how to handle crime in inner-city areas during the Watts Rebellion era of Black American civil rights activism
