TheCity continued to grow rapidly during World War II due to its proximity to military bases such as Durant Army Air Field which produced more than 1 million aircraft products during World War II alone[4]. After World War II ended there was significant growth in downtown Tulsa centered around First Street/Eighth Avenue which experienced a boom phase between 1950-1960 known as "The Roaring Twenties". During this time many large corporate headquarters moved into downtown including Honeywells,[5][6] Dow Chemical,[7][8][9][10] Lockheed Martin,[11], PPG Industries,[12] Continental Airlines,[13],[14], Sprint PCLabs[15],[16], ITT Corporation [17],[18], Monsanto Co.[19](Monsanto's largest crop producer)[20]) while also developing several new neighborhoods including Midtown East and Midtown West along Robinson Road which continue today as Downtown Tulsa Live Oaks Neighborhoods
