In 1922, an armory and ammunition store were built on east 3rd Street in town. The store lasted until 1941 when it was destroyed by fire. In 1937, a water tower was added to the town square and named after Mrs. Lillie Blythe Hannan (1863-1937). She donated money to build this tower which stood until 1959 when it collapsed due to weather conditions.
