This shopping center anchored what would be called "The Strip" area until it closed in 1984 when Interstate 35 was built through the heart of Tulsa CBD area including much of downtown business district which led to downtown being abandoned and then redeveloped as residential districts today
Tahlequah was founded in 1879 by the Cherokee Chief, Tahlequah Ross. The town was named for his father, who had been killed in a skirmish with the white settlers. The town rapidly grew and prospered until it was destroyed by a fire in 1907.
