In 1912, another shooting took place at an optometrist's office in Milwaukee which left three people dead and five injured. It was the first accidental shooting in America. In 1913, a gunman killed four women and injure nine others by mistake while firing a shotgun inside an abortion clinic in Wichita Falls Texas. The incident is also known as the Wichita Falls Massacre.

Today, Shawnee is home to many businesses and cultural attractions that are important for its history and culture.
