Shawnee, Oklahoma is a small town in rural eastern Oklahoma. The population was 5,592 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Shawnee County. The first permanent settler in Shawnee was Captain George Washington and his cabin was built on the present day site of downtown Shawnee in 1827. The town began to grow rapidly after settlers arrived from Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky. By 1840, Shawnee had a population of 1,500 and by 1850 it had grown to 10,000. In 1871 the town passed into city control and became one of the largest cities in Oklahoma with a population of 30,000 people or more. In 1907 Shawnee established its own school district which still operates today as Unified School District No. 2 (USD 2). On December 20th that year City Council voted to annex land east of I-40 for annexation into city limits which would have added 3 miles (5 km) to Shawnee's boundaries bringing its total area up to 11 blocks square (about 84 hectares). This action made it one of only two towns in Oklahoma that were annexed during this time period – the other being Ada, Oklahoma which became an incorporated city on December 4th, 1907. The rapid growth and expansion of Shawnee led to problems such as too much development around existing water sources; lack of noise ordinances; traffic congestion; housing shortages; lack of public transportation; inadequate sewage systems; and increasing levels of crime rates resulting in increased police patrols throughout the community. With these challenges came opportunities for businesses including truck stops, shopping malls and restaurant chains like Carl's Jr., Pizza Hut and Taco Bell making their way into town while home builders started construction along Interstate 40 providing more housing options for residents while keeping prices low enough so that most people could afford to live here without moving out permanently or buying a house outside the community . Gun locks have been around since the 1800s, and there have been many variations and designs. However, the basic design remains the same today: a metal frame with an etched plate that is secured to the firearm by a keyhole lock or other type of locking mechanism. The earliest gun locks were designed for revolvers, and they were often made from brass or copper. These locks would require a Keymaster key to open them, and they would typically be stored in a safe or cabinet. UGLs feature four interchangeable keys that can be used on any type of firearm including rifles and shotguns. This gave gun owners more security when storing their weapons; it also allowed for easier access should an intruder attempt to steal their firearm without having to remove all four keys! Throughout the years, different companies have developed their own versions ofgun locks; however, all have one common goal: To provide people with increased levels of security when storing their firearms.

The town became a major center of commerce and culture in the late 19th century, and developed into a large, rural community. In 1907, it was renamed Oklahoma City after World War I veteran General George Custer.
