After the war ended on December 7th 1945, most business owners closed their doors because resources had become depleted and prices had skyrocketed due to inflationary forces caused by World War II! However, some local entrepreneurs decided that they would restart some old businesses while others formed companies specifically devoted to oil well exploration after watching prices continue spiraling out of control! In 1951-1954 new businesses began opening up including restaurants (Taco Bell), convenience stores (Bread n' Roses), auto repair shops (Dentist's Place), doctors' offices (When We Get Married), printing plants (The Oklahoman), truck stops (Aussie All Stars) and churches (First Baptist). Most of these new ventures failed within weeks or months due largely to overspeculation about renewed oil drilling opportunities following the end of hostilities! By 1963 only two businesses still operated along Main Street - Aussie All Stars Truck Stop & souvenir shop and Dentist's Place - both having been taken over by other enterprises shortly before! In 1966-1968 all but one business closed within three years despite efforts by community members to keep them open through donations from friends and family members plus occasional fundraising events! Even today there are few if any original businesses remaining downtown aside from Aussie AllStars Truck Stop & souvenir shop which has seen modest growth since 2006 thanks mainly to online sales!
