In the early 1900s, Ponca City was a thriving town in southern Oklahoma. The population of the city increased from about 2,500 to over 10,000 during that time. The town was founded by white settlers in 1881 and became known for its rifle stocks industry. However, by 1910 there were only five businesses remaining in town compared to over 100 years later with over 150 businesses open within walking distance! Today's economy revolves around healthcare services which are provided by local hospitals as well as several larger health care providers including Baptist Health System and Methodist Healthcare system who operate out of nearby Guthrie Hospital. These providers provide primary care outpatient services as well as ambulatory care services; providing access to medical marijuana dispensaries across town which are also among their patient base! Additionally, numerous small business owners have set up shop throughout town providing many essential services that make life easier for residents including plumbing supplies (they do it all!).
