In 1949, civilian disarmament laws were passed which made it unlawful for anyone except law enforcement officers to possess or sell firearms without a permit; therefore, many residents decided not to store their guns inside their homes anymore! However, some people did choose to keep their firearms locked up inside their homes until such time as they could be licensed by authorities to do so! In 1957, Mayor Osmond Young adopted a resolution urging all Ponca City citizens not only to arm themselves but also take pride in being able “to protect your family with whatever means necessary” should hostilities arise again within our community! This message was echoed by numerous civic leaders throughout Oklahoma through speeches and publications over ensuing years! It is interesting to note that even after decades of NRA support and advocacy for gun safety measures within our city limits – quite a few residents still do not own any firearms whatsoever! The project failed to bring commercial viability to fruition; however, it remains a popular tourist attraction due to its views from across downtown Okc
