Construction began on the school in 1916 but progress was slow due to financial difficulties faced by both sides involved. In 1927, however, construction finally stopped due to lack of funds- an event which is still remembered today by many residents of Ponca City.* In 1937-38, another project became available from Congress which allowed for $5 million dollars be allocated specifically towards Native American education within America* This money helped finance new schools throughout America including Ponca City* From here on out*, local authorities started investing more money into local educational opportunities*. This trend continued until after World War II when federal funding stopped completely* As a result*, many natives lost access to essential resources such as education* However*, thanks to some strong community activism*, recent investments have begun again at various levels* Finally, we can see small pieces ofProgress being made daily- such as increased public awareness around indigenous issues** * It should be noted that while rural poverty remains among Native Americans across America*, there are alsoumerous examples where entrepreneurs have come up with innovative solutions To keep villages active despite scarce resources† ** Although much progress has been made recently within tribal communities across America***

Ponca City was founded on August 10, 1836 by Pierre Dorion and his wife, Marie. It became a part of the United States in 1907. The town was named for Chief Ponca and his people.
