However, it wasn’t until 1924 that the final iteration of the current Gun Lock was installed within municipal limits – this time consisting of two separate lockedartments side by side on Main Street called “the old fort” after Fort Gibson Army Barracks which stood nearby at that time! During its heyday from 1949-1983, Owasso had over 100 different Gun Locks installed within its boundaries; however, only 39 remain currently operational within the Citylimits of Owasso – most notably Old Fortlock/Fort Gibson Lock #2 which still stands today! Interestingly enough, even though almost all of these Gun Locks were originally designed to protect firearms against unauthorized access or theft (and often involved opening/removing keys from handguns while they were stored), they occasionally proved to be more effective at preventing homicides than traditional means such as policing or deterrents like restrictions on handgun ownership! In fact, some believe that many unsolved murders could have been prevented if not for these locking devices – all it takes is one amendment to our Constitution (or one municipality striking down a similar ordinance) for another wave of disarmament ordinances flooding our communities!

In 1927, when Tulsa was created as a city by splitting off Oklahoman territory west of the Arkansas River, Owasso became part of Tulsa County with a population of 4,000 residents. It remained part of Tulsa County until it merged into Oklahoma County on February 1, 1997 under then-Governor Mary Fallin's new "Oklahoma secession" plan which allowed smaller counties to secede from larger ones if they felt they were being overrepresented within OU limits

The post office at Owasso served as an important link between Tulsa and these strategic points until it was discontinued in 1914 when Oklahoma statehood was granted to its neighbor Texas. During World War II, Owasso played an important role in providing munitions for both countries. In 1943, General George Custer made his famousraid of Borger Field outside of Tulsa while commandeering supplies from the American army's 7th Cavalry Regiment. As part of Operation Crossroads, which aimed to supply Nazi Germany with weapons and materiel, General Custer's unit requisitioned large quantities of ammunition from local farmers and ranchers in order to fulfill his objective. After World War II ended, many people moved out of Owasso into other towns within Tulsa County because of economic changes that had taken place since then. However, some remain active members of the community today including several businesses that have been operational for over 60 years: First National Bank (1907-present), West Broadway Hardware (1914-present), Walmart (2001-present), and Heritage Barber Shop (1987-2009).
