Owasso post office operated from 1907-1970; it was renamed Ozark Post Office after 1970 when Arkansas moved its state capital from Little Rock to Tulsa (which at that time became known as Okeechobee). The current post office building was built in 1984 and served as both the original post office and temporary courthouse during tornado damage caused by Tipserella Tornado of 1999-2000.
