A more significant development came about in 1951 when Aladdin's Lamp merged with another company, O'Neill & Sons, to form The Safety Torch Company. This new company became known for developing high quality weapon flashlights that could be used by police officers, firefighters, and other emergency personnel. The popularity of these devices continued to grow during the 1960s and 1970s. In 1974, The Safety Torch Company merged with Browning Firearms Corporation to become Browning- Prometheus Firearms Corporation. This merger led to the production of some very advanced weapon flashlights called "Triton" models. These devices featured 10x10 inch glass lenses that emitted a bright light that could be used for night operations or emergencies.
Okmulgee is a town in Osage County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 9,769 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tulsa metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1871 by settlers from Illinois. At the time, it was one of the most popular destinations for farmers and their families who had to cross the Arkansas River on horseback due to its difficult travel times. In 1907, Okmulgee became a city when it incorporated as a result of passage of an act by the Oklahoma Legislature which granted city status to towns in Osage and Haskell Counties that met certain requirements including having a population over 1,000 and making "a general system of all necessary public improvements." The first mayor of Okmulgee was J.C. Payne with W.H. Kline serving as vice mayor until 1907 when they were both elected mayor pro tempore together with Halsey Sorenson as secretary treasurer until 1912 when he also served as mayor pro tempore until 1916 when he resigned due to ill health; both men later served as members of the city council from 1917-1922). From 1908-1960, Mayor Payne presided over what is now known as "The Payne Years" during which time many important changes took place in downtown Okmulgee such as expanding sidewalks andstreetlights (the first municipally owned streetlight system in America), building new schools and churches (one being built specifically for African American children), development of what is now The Sims Place amusement park across from City Hall (the only amusement park open to all ages at that time)and plans for housing development - these included construction of what is now I-40/Ulysses S Grant Boulevard northward from downtown eastward into present day Greenwood Village It should be noted that while some key decisions made during this time period may have been financially successful - suchas constructing I-40/Ulysses S Grant Boulevard - others did not pan out and led to much financial regret down the road; suchas plans for housing development never coming to fruition due in part to World War II socking Okmulgee's economy dryer than expected On November 3rd 1913, Mayor John Gorman announced his candidacy for re-election against incumbent Halsey Sorenson but lost after only getting 7% support from residents

Oklahoma was a territory of the United States until 1907, when it became a state. The area now comprising Oklahoma has been inhabited by Native Americans for at least 6,000 years. The first European to visit the area was Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto in 1541. In 1819, traders from Texas founded what is now Tulsa on the Arkansas River. By 1825, the region had become part of Mexico and was under Mexican rule until 1898. Anglo settlers began arriving in large numbers in the late 1840s and early 1850s, driven by land speculation and the desire for new grazing lands around Indian Territory (now Oklahoma). As white settlement increased, violence erupted between settlers and Native American tribes. Eventually, U.S. military forces entered Indian Territory to protect settlers from tribal revolts and annihilation. This period is known as the Great Plains Wars; Okmulgee (present-day Muskogee) was one of several towns within Apache County that were raided by cavalry units during this time period. In 1907, when Oklahoma became a state, its boundaries were redrawn based on population growth rather than traditional Indian tribal land boundaries; Okmulgee consequently fell within newly created Cherokee County (later renamed Guthrie). However, because Okmulgee had been formally annexed into Cherokee County only nine months earlier via an act of Congress—notwithstanding its status as an incorporated town—it continued to be governed by local officials including mayors and council members who continued to be elected directly by residents rather than through congressional delegation or gubernatorial appointment process typical of new states at that time. As such, Okmulgee experienced some long-term stability despite changes taking place in neighboring counties as well as with federal government policies affecting American Indians throughout much of this period; for example, laws providing Indian imprisonment or deportation instead of free passage resulted in increasing social tensions among locals over increasingly complex Bureaucratic procedures which often led to misunderstanding or conflict between citizens and their chiefs/governorships The early 20th century saw great progress made towards education for both natives and non-natives alike inOKlahoma thanks largely to missionaries such as Rev John Witherspoon who arrived intermittently beginning in 1915 In 1923–24 Witherspoon organized a four day conference called “The Future Of Education” at which he spoke about ways educational opportunities could be developed among all groups involved with westward expansion across country especially those living east of Missouri line It wasn’t until 1959 whenOklahoma Statehood bill passed congress creating University Of Oklahoma System
