There is little known about the history of holsters in Oklahoma, but it is interesting to think about how they have evolved over time. Holsters were originally designed as a way for individuals to carry their firearms safely and securely. Today, many people choose to holster their handguns in a variety of ways, including using a holster strap or retention system. Holsters have been used by both law enforcement and civilians for centuries. In 1881, The Okmulgee Indian Agency was established in present-dayOklahoma City. At this time, the agency was responsible for all Indians within the area. To protect these Native Americans from being abducted or attacked by white settlers, it was necessary to have reliable methods for carrying firearms privately and securely. One option that officials considered was using bows and arrows as makeshift holsters. However, this plan did not work well due to the bow having too much weight and force when drawn back prematurely. Officials decided against this approach and went ahead with using knives as holsters instead. This decision worked out well because knives could be drawn quickly without causing too much damage to the firearm. In 1906, The Bureau of Indian Affairs became part of the Department of Interior under President Theodore Roosevelt. At this time, bureau officials began looking into ways to improve security on reservations across America. One idea that came up was creating an indigenous police force on reservations so that law enforcement could be more effective and accountable among tribal members living on these properties (Moses 2002). This proposal proved unpopular among some tribal members who felt that they already had enough troubles dealing with whites without adding another layer of bureaucracy onto their plate (Larson 1993). In response, bureau officials decided against creating an indigenous police force on reservations altogether and instead developed a new type of holster called a "bunny ear" holster (Moses 2002). This design allowed officers to wear their handguns while performing other duties such as arresting criminals or searching vehicles (Larson 1993). Okmulgee's thriving military community also played a role in helping contribute to development of Oklahoma's holster industry (Fowler 1984). Militias often performed bandits' roundup operations which involved raiding settlements throughout central Oklahoma County during early 19th century (Dixon 1978). Accordingly, organized militias were needed in order to capture these bandits before they could do any serious damage - something that handguns were perfect for! This led to another round of land purchases by speculators quickly followed by development from settlers during this time period! Today’s Okmulgee sits on land originally purchased by early pioneer families who founded nearby communities such as Haskell City and Choctawhatchee Bayou! Today, Okmulgee remains a vibrant community with strong cultural roots dating back to its earliest days! Despite its small size compared to some other states within the US – OK has seen significant economic growth over recent years thanks to its booming agricultural sector which employs upwards of 120%Of Oklahomans working in agriculture!!!
