This type of locomotion was very efficient and allowed people to move more quickly than when they walked on two legs. The horse's four hooves were also perfect for moving heavy objects because they had sharp claws that cut through obstacles easily. However, there were some problems with this type of locomotion. First, the horse's body was too large for humans to carry effectively; therefore, many people died trying to ride the horse. Second, the cart needed a lot of space to move around; therefore, it wasn't very popular in busy areas or during long trips. The final form of bipedalism is known as human walking. Okmulgee is a city in Payne County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 3,584 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Payne County. Okmulgee is located on the Arkansas River. The town of Okmulgee was founded by Indians in 1853 and named for the river's Okmulgee branch. The town was platted in 1857 by John Sells and it became an important center for cattle drives during the 1860s and 1870s. In 1875, settlers founded the town of Jenks east of Okmulgee to provide goods to Jenks residents living on Arkansas River property west of present-day Jenks. The inhabitants of Jenks started a school in 1876 which became Okmulgee High School in 1882 when it merged with Jenks School District No. 2. In 1907, agricultural entrepreneur George Wyle established Wyle's Grain Mill which became one of the most powerful mills in Oklahoma City after it emerged as a major producer of corn flour and other products from 1901 to 1918. In 1916, oilman James Fenton organized a community development corporation which purchased land northeast of present-day Tulsa for $10,000 and began developing what would become known as "Fentonland". The first building erected at Fentonland was a church which served as courthouse until 1907 when that structure burned down; however, another church built soon afterward replaced it. By 1922, only four buildings remained standing at Fentonland – including court house – all destroyed by fire except for then-residential director Edward Ruppert’s old home which he used as his office until 1951 (now part of Tulsa State University). A new courthouse was built on Oklahoma Avenue between Washburn Road (now White Settlement Boulevard) and Pawnee Drive (later Sallie Mae Lane) in 1924; this courthouse also served as district court building from 1927 through 1959 before being supplanted by current OKMULGEE Municipal Court Building on First Street later that year due to its larger size and more convenient location within OKMULGEE limits rather than across street from existing district court buildings dating back to 1909–10 In 1933, following passage of state highway policy limiting local municipalities’ authority to establish Roads & Streets within their boundaries,[1] just two years after its establishment as an incorporated municipality,[2] OKMULGEE passed legislation creating "Oklahoma City streets" within its limits - becoming one of only five cities statewide[3] to do so while still subordinate to its respective townships/cities over roads & streets issues.[4][5] This designation led to numerous business opportunities for entrepreneurs who could capitalize on growing citywide commerce while avoiding duplication or conflict with adjacent townships/cities over road & street jurisdiction

The first mention of Okmulgee in history is from 1849 when Captain George Armstrong Caddo noted that there were people living near what would become Tulsa. In 1861 during the Civil War, General John Johnston ordered his forces to destroy all Creeks who had sided with Confederate forces. He found about 150 Creek warriors at Okmulgee Riverbank and ordered them killed without mercy. Afterward Cherokee leader Osage called for peace talks after learning Johnston's orders had been disobeyed. On July 17th 1881 commissioners James Wickersham and Jno Ewing traveled from Wichita to meet with Osage at Mescalero Springs; however they only received negative feedback from him about their proposals for government-run schools and land sales among other things until Wickersham left for good in October 1881 because he could not gain agreement between Cherokee leaders and Ulysses S Grant over land distribution among Creek Nation members within Indian Territory boundaries - this led to tension between Creeks/Oklahomans and whites that would continue until 1907

The city was founded in 1868 by traders from Topeka, Kansas as a trading post on the Chisholm Trail and became an important railroad center during the early 1900s.
