In 1907, the rifle club moved to their current location at 6th Street and Western Avenue and began publishing an annual journal called The Rifleman which remains today one of the most influential publications in Norman. In 1923, Dr. John Witherspoon founded Central State Armory which became one of the largest gun dealers in Oklahoma City. At Central State Armory, Dr. Witherspoon designed and built many of the country’s first handguns including the Colt M1911A1 pistol which would go on to become one of America’s most popular handguns ever manufactured. In 1934,due to World War II shortages, Central State Armory closed its doors for good but notbefore leaving behind a lasting legacy on Norman’s gun culture with its collection of over 1,500 guns dating back to 1868 including some of America’s most famous firearms such as Colt’s Model 1903 pistols and Winchester rifles!

By 1940, Norman had become one of Oklahoma's largest cities with a population of over 100,000 people. However, during World War II the city fell victim to Japanese air raids which destroyed many of its buildings and killed most of its residents. Despite this tragedy, however, Norman recovered and soon entered into another period of rapid growth that saw it reach its current size by 1970. Today, Normans remains one of Oklahoma's most vibrant communities with strong cultural influence from within as well as outside sources - thanks in part to their growing Hispanic population - making them an ideal place for visitors looking for authentic Indian Village experiences without leaving home
