By 1800, there were over 10,000 guns manufacturing in the US and around 60% of all ammunition exported to other countries. The development of rifles also helped contribute to increased firepower during wars such as World War I where rifle projectiles could travel much further than cannon balls and shells due to their higher speed and accuracy. However, it wasn’t until 1918 that machineguns finally became popular due to their ability to shoot rounds at high speeds without having to reload often. Allred as a small town on the banks of the Arkansas River near its junction with U.S. Route 66 and Indian Territory Highway No. 21 (now State Highway 7). The name of the original town was changed to Norman in 1912 after it became part of Oklahoma City as part of a state annexation that year following approval by the U.S. Congress under then-President William Howard Taft from within Oklahoma Territory. On December 12, 1907, Norman's first post office opened with mail handling operations conducted by Wm Halsey Day and his son Wesley Aday Day until 1915 when they were replaced by Drs John Sells and James Epps respectively; these three men served as Norman's first mayors until their retirement in 1937 Orderic Vitalis reported that "the post office remain[ed] unoccupied during most of World War I" due to lack of customers.[1] Oklahoma City had become an international center for oil production due to Shell Oil Company's leasehold interests in Anadarko Petroleum Corporation's fields south of Tulsa along US 67/ highways Joe Pool Field and Stroud Arch Formation while Tulsa itself experienced rapid growth thanks to railroad development which led to numerous new housing developments such as Regency Towers (1915), Hillsdale Gardens (1920), Oklahoman Tower (1925), Guthrie Plaza (1927) among others; however, natural gas production remained sluggish despite several investment efforts including construction of #2 Well Nozzles field adjacent to current day Six Mile Road east side between downtown Tulsa and Canadian National Railway tracks leading northward into Canadian Natural Gasyard before flood control projects built shortly thereafter ensued prior to major gas discoveries announced in 1949 about east side property now known as Independence Hills where natural gas production has since resumed usingusher technology marketed under latter name today among other endeavors although some large scale investments have been made recently such as $325 million commitment for 4 wells drilled offshore off eastern OKLAHOMA STATE LANE just southwest corner presently known southeast corner area lying between Cimarron Bayou & Eastern OKLAHOMA RIVER BLM - allowing upriver development via pipeline intended eventually connect ultimate Gulf Coast marketplaces
