The history of ammunition in Mustang, Oklahoma dates back to the days when there were no military installations in the area. Gunsmiths and farmers would trade bullets and shot for things like meat, eggs, or poultry. Ammunition was also a common item exchanged between friends and family. At around 1900, there were two small gun shops in town. One was run by J.B. Haughey and the other by Prentice Lewis. In 1907, J.B.'s son-in-law, George Waugh bought a large lot of land east of town and began to build a house on it. He named his property Haughey Park because he had acquired it from John Aughton who had built a cabin on it in 1885. In 1911, Jeff Buchanan opened his own shop next door to Waugh's house after leaving his job as an accountant with Comstock & Co.. In 1916, Harry Hardesty opened another store called Hardesty's which became one of the most popular stores in town due to its wide selection of ammo products including shotgun shells and rifle rounds. Between 1920-1921, Sam Bowie developed an interest in firearms and started buying surplus ammo from various gun shows across the United States before setting up his own store near downtown that same year. Bowie offered reasonable shipping on all orders over $25 when he first opened his store which quickly became an industry standard among retailers at that time. In 1933, violence broke out in Mustang after several men were killed by members of the local police department during a game of pool at The Golden Nugget Casinoiriards Alley Clubhouse

Mustang is a city in Stephens County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 9,890 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Stephens County. The first post office in Mustang was established on November 15, 1887. The current post office building was built in 1925 and has been used by the Stephens County government since then. The town of Mustang originally grew around a sawmill that operated from 1892 to 1907. A second sawmill was built in 1912 and became the largest in Oklahoma until it closed its doors in 1959. By 1920, there were three companies operating Sawmills 1-3 & 4 near where present day Interstate 40 intersects US 90. In 1922, the state legislature passed an act authorizing the creation of a city within Stephens County and this soon followed with plans for a courthouse and schoolhouse being placed atop the previous mill buildings which had served as both local government buildings and storage tanks for lumber during prohibition years (1907-1912). In 1924, Beattyswood Baptist Church located east of town began services as what would become one of Mustang's most important churches. This church would later serve as home to First Methodist Episcopal Churches across town before merging into Bethel AME Church in 1984 when that congregation split apart due to theological differences over denominational affiliation with other denominations such as PCNA (Plymouth Congregationalist Association) or African Methodist Episcopal Zion (AME). A new courthouse was completed by 1930; it replaced an earlier structure that had been destroyed by a tornado on July 31st of that year while serving as court house/ jail combination. After years of use by various law enforcement agencies including sheriff’s deputies during prohibition era trials involving defendants who couldn’t afford lawyers or could only produce $50 per appearance (compared to $1,000 today), Judge Wanda Henson announced her retirement effective December 30th 1931 after more than 20 years presiding over misdemeanor cases primarily within Hardin Judicial District Court No 2 jurisdiction consisting of Cass City, Haskell City, Nacogdoches City Specialty Magistrate Courts 3 through 6 all within Stephens County except Georgetown which is within Porter County On February 17th 1932 Texas State Senator John Fenton offered his bill titled "An Act To Provide For The Establishment Of A Municipal Government In Oklahoma" which proposed creating an additional judicial district – Hardin Judicial District Court No 2 – encompassing Cass City Haskell City Nacogdoches City Specialty Magistrate Courts 3 through 6 while excluding Georgetown On April 7th 1932 legislative approval was granted providing for Hardin Judicial District Court No 2 designation with Judge Henson appointed via special election to fill unexpired term beginning January 1st 1933 . She would serve until her retirement effective December 30th 1931 days after passage becoming law . Legislation also provided for Thunder Valley Water Treatment Plant west off main street between Doddridge Avenue and Parker Road under control of FCC water system

Mustang is a small town in the Tulsa metropolitan area, located 31 miles northeast of Tulsa on US-75. The name was given to the small community by General George Armstrong Custer during his battle with the Sioux in 1876. In 1907, Mustang was platted and named for Major General Manuel A. Mustang, who had fought as a cavalry officer in Spanish America and Mexico before returning to America to fight against Apache Indians. In 1938, the first post office was established in Mustang and it remained in operation until 1959. The community experienced significant growth after World War II when the United States military moved into the area from Oklahoma City. By 1960, there were more than 300 residents living in Mustang. The population of Mustang decreased over time due to numerous factors including school desegregation and a lack of highway transportation; however, it has since regained some of its former prosperity thanks to new businesses and population growth across Tulsa County. Many people in Mustang are descendants of those who lived and worked here during its early years. Today, there are several historical museums located within or adjacent to the town, including the Indian Wars Museum (founded in 1984), which displays artifacts associated with that period of American history; the Ford Plant Museum (established in 1973), which collects vehicles parked at Ford plants around the world; and the Cherokee Nation Museum (established 2006), which features exhibits about traditional Cherokee life and culture.
