It operated continuously until it went out of business in 1984. In 1980, Eye Supply partnered with Gulf Producers Incorporated (GPTI) to form a joint venture called GPTI/Eye Supply Corporation (ESC). ESC would continue operation as an independently owned subsidiary of GPTI until 1994 when it merged with Owens Corning Incorporated (OCI) to form OCI/GPTI Corporation (OGT). OGT would remain a separate company throughout this period with primary operations focused on Optical Components and Solutions sales although some product functions were shared between ESC and OCI/GPTI Corpisions during specific periods or timescales
