In 1907, The Gun Lamps Company purchased a company named White & Sons Manufacturing Company. This company manufactured firearms parts and accessories. The new company name represented the two main business interests of its founders: manufacturing and salesmanship. In 1912, The Gun Lamps Company merged with another business called the Browning Camera Corporation. This merger created a strong marketing presence for both companies. Browning Camera Corporation became known for making high-quality camera equipment and selling it through department stores and other retailers nationwide. Gunlight manufacture began to increase in Muskogee during World War I (1914-1918). As war progressed, more factories were needed to produce munitions; consequently, gunlight manufactures increased their output as well. In 1919, The Gun Lamps Company merged with Wesson Firearms Corporation to form Wesson Arms Corporation. With this merger came an enlarged product line as well as new marketing efforts that helped position Wesson Firearms Corporation as one of America’s leading handgun manufacturers.

By 1930, Muskogee had become one of America's fastest growing small cities with over 100 businesses operating within its limits. During World War II, Muskogee played an important role in both military production and housing shortages statewide due to the lack of available farmland (). A combined engineering team created an artificial creek that irrigated 10 acres (4 ha) of local corn fields using gravity irrigation () afterWWII ended (); this event is now commemorated as "TheMuskogee Flood" (). After WWII ended(), many good-paying jobs opened up throughout Tulsa (), but few were available for locals with less than high school education (). Eventually several successful entrepreneurial businessmen moved into town; these men helped revive downtown businesses which had been dormant since the early 20th century (). Today, Muskogees are proud members of their community and continue to support their historic downtown district through various events/projects such as art festivals/parades., concerts/dances., etc

The town experienced several boom times during its early years but eventually went bankrupt due to over-spending. By 1889, Muskogee's population had decreased to about 20 people and it ceased operations altogether that year. However, the community is still recognized as an important cultural and statistical center in Oklahoma.
