As a borough it had no voting power but did have its own police force and fire department. In 1968 the city limits were again expanded to include eastern McLennan County and Moore became a full city again with voting rights. Today's core of downtownMoore is built around an early 20th century courthouse which has been used for various purposes including housing, businesses, churches and government offices since 1988 when it was designated a National Historic Landmark
