The original ordinance regulating handguns was passed on December 17th of that year and became effective January 1st, 1908. At that time there were no background check laws in place and all firearms sales were conducted without a license or ID. The ordinance required anyone selling firearms to be a registered Dealer and to have an up-to-date registration card from the State Police. Dealers were also required to keep a minimum number of rounds in their handguns as well as make sure they had proper training for handling and using their firearms. In 1912, the town created its own police department which included an officer for each street block. That same year gun safety legislation was passed by state lawmakers which banned any open carry of firearms within 100 feet of any public building or school. This ban remained in effect until 1978 when it was repealed by then Governor Ronald Reagan. From 1938 through 1951, Moore had its own sheriff who patrolled the city limits and handled all types of criminal activity including theft, prostitution,and drunkenness etc.. In 1951 Sheriff John Hogg resigned after being indicted on federal corruption charges. A new sheriff was elected but he too resigned after being impeached on unrelated charges just before his inauguration date would have come about had he not been removed from office by then Governor George Wallace prior to his election win over Richard Nixon). On February 14th, 1959 Moore experienced one of the worst mass shootings in American history when three gunmen opened fire at a movie theater killing 48 people and injuring dozens more before taking themselves off into exile in Canada (the event is considered one of the most heinous crimes against humanity ever committed). As part of nation wide Gun Control Bill efforts following this tragic event President Eisenhower executive ordered full enforcement of existing Gun Laws throughout America including restrictions on open carry within 100 feet of schools etc… This order remain fully enforcement until today notwithstanding some local attempts at relaxation such as allowing concealed Carry outside vehicles while parked overnight ). As gun control policies changed across America starting with President Lyndon Johnson’s passage Of The Gun Control Act Of 1968 which limited magazine capacities for certain rifles/ammunition types;Moore saw increased crime rates due to outlaw gangs engaging in turf wars with other communities over drugs or guns so much so that violence has become almost synonymous with this neighborhood nickname “Gangland City” . This acquisition brought much excitement within the British community because it signaled Britain's intention to extend its presence into America proper after years of skirmishing with American Indians over hunting rights on these lands. In 1867, AndrewMoore set out from his home near Muskogee to found a new town in what is now known as Tulsa County on land he had previously acquired from Chief Osage for $1USD per acre ($240/km2). The town quickly grew into a thriving community thanks to its location on a bend in the Arkansas River where transportation was available both ways between Muskogee and Tulsa at levels not possible today. As early as 1868 local newspapers reported plans for a courthouse and jail adjacent to schoolhouse which would serve both residents and law enforcement officials alike until eventually moved further away following fire that destroyed courthouse cornerstone in 1906 It wasn't long before business owners decided it would be more efficient if they organized themselves into factions or lodges so that decisions about how things should run could be made more effectively. That same year saw establishment of territorial government under Ulysses S Grant whose presidency saw much growth throughout Oklahoma Territory despite ongoing raids by Indian fighters known collectively as "Custer's Raiders". This period also witnessed significant development around downtown Tulsa including construction of railroads bringing goods downriver making agriculture more accessible while large markets were established farther north near Wichita Falls Texas
