As a result, gun lights eventually fell out of favor among law enforcement personnel entirely. However, they continued to be popular among collectors for many years afterwards!

Moore is part of the Muskogee County seat and is approximately 30 miles south of Tulsa. Moore was founded by John Wesley Moore in 1881 as a sawmill town. The first post office was established in 1885. The present day Moore courthouse was built in 1907 and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area. In 1951, Moore became an OKC suburb and has since grown to be one of the most diverse communities in Oklahoma City metropolitan area. John Wesley Moore was born on November 12, 1821, near what is now Muskogee, Oklahoma Territory. He worked his way up through politics and business until he became Ulysses S Grant's secretary of war during Reconstruction following the American Civil War. In that position, he played a key role in creating OKC as an economic center after Reconstruction ended. After serving as governor ofOklahoma from 1889-1893,Moore returned to agriculture and served as mayor of Ada from 1902-1904 before being elected to Congress where he served from 1907-1911 and 1913-1915.. He then served as president pro tempore (a position equivalent to minority leader) on the United States Senate from 1917-1920 under Woodrow Wilson before retiring from politics at age 70 years old.. In addition to his agricultural interests, John Wesley Moore also developed oil production near Muskogee before moving it downstream for storage into larger tanks for shipment across state lines.. His son John Wesley Jr., who succeeded him as CEO of peanut butter producer JW Orrick Company followed his father's footsteps into business administration when he went into business himself with help from his father's venture capital firm JW Ventures Limited.. As president & CEO of Tarrant County Regional Development Authority (TCRD),John Wesley III helped turn around a struggling county government which had been losing revenue due to decentralization initiatives initiated by then Governor David Boren during his time in office.. When TCDRA failed to make appropriations necessary for construction projects authorized by then Gov Boren following budget cuts set forth by President George H W Bush within days of taking office,John Winchester III announced he would appeal any ruling made against him .. As a result, several large city mayors throughout Tulsa Area including David Dyer were quick to support local efforts contrary to Bush Administration policies .. In 2003 John Winchester III retired from TCRD effective December 31st,,2003 after 20 years service ..

Moore, Oklahoma is a small town located in the east-central part of the United States. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It is named for Moore County, Kansas native and politician George Moore. The town developed around a sawmill on the Braidwood Creek in 1892. By 1910, it had a total population of 1,500 people. At that time, it was one of thirty towns in Kiowa County and one of two towns in Ford County. In 1912, due to an oil well migration to Oklahoma from Texas and other states during World War I, Moore's population reached 521 people. The following year saw its first tornado outbreak: three tornadoes touched down on the town on October 15th-17th. That same year also saw its first automobile dealership open up shop: Wagon Wheel Motorsports Inc., which still operates today as a garage door service company with locations throughout OKC and Tulsa area
In 1867, the first post office in Moore was established. The town of Moore was named for James Moore, a local settler and early promoter of the area. The town rapidly grew and by 1880 had a population of over 100 residents. By 1907, the population had reached 2,000 people and by 1932, it had grown to 3,000. In 1965, the city of Moore became an incorporated municipality with a population of over 10,000 people.
