During World War II both Nazi Germany and Japan bombed Tulsa; however, no damage was done to either city center or any important civilian targets within downtown; this contrasted significantly with Hiroshima where more than 60 percent of structures were destroyed or damaged by atomic bombing over three days With increased military activity throughout Southwest Asia during the late 1960s and 1970s – including Operation Northwoods – anti-Mexican sentiment grew across America concurrent with economic stagnation following rapid growth rates since world war II .
