In the early 1900s, two brothers named George and Jesse started a business called The Canning Company in Miami. Located on Northwest First Street in the heart of the city, they produced canned goods for local markets. By 1910, The Canning Company had expanded to its present location on Northeast Second Avenue and was producing more than 2 million cans a day. During World War II, The Canning Company became nationally known for its munitions products. In addition to manufacturing canned goods, they also manufactured grenades, ammunition and shipbuilding materials. In 1964, the company merged with other canners companies to form Allied Canning Corporation. At Allied Canning Corporation, we continued making high-quality canned goods until our final closure in 1995. The first municipal building in Miami was constructed in 1911 on what later became Elmwood Drive, across from City Hall. In 1912, Miami annexed parts of Jenks County and its growth continued until 1920 when it absorbed all but one block of Muskogee Township from that town’s governing body. That year saw also the opening of First Methodist Church which served as both Municipal Building and Primary School before eventually being torn down in 1966 due to structural problems with its foundations; it has since been replaced by a strip mall complex called "The Avenue". In 1925, another municipality called "Canton" was established within Muskogee Township boundaries but this too failed to gain acceptance among residents until 1928 when it amalgamated with Miami into one municipality under then-Mayor Wm Sowers; during his tenure Canton experienced further growth until 1939 when annexation into Tulsa completed its process adding an additional 2 square miles (5 km2) to that city's boundary making it 7square miles (18 km2). However censuses conducted after World War II showed no significant change except for an overall decrease in population size as most residents relocated outside either Tulsa or Muskogee Counties following jobs available within those cities during wartime boom times; today only a small remnant remains living withinMuskogee Township boundaries while most residents now reside within Tulsa proper limits including portions of Lamar Boulevard which extend through downtown Muskogee concurrent with I-40 freeway exit ramps leading thereto becoming known as "The Avenue" once again paralleling I-40 main route traffic patterns providing limited access vehicular passage thereby limiting commercial development along said avenue however some businesses have managed to develop near Lamar Boulevard exits including Sprint Nextel Stadium/Volkswagen Stadium & their associated facilities which are now part Of Sunoco Logistics Center Incorporated originally built adjacent To Home Depot prior To Its merger With Sam’s Club IncorporatedIn addition other nearby major METRO stops such As Spirit Airlines Airport & Tinker Air Force Base are also easily accessible by car or bus EWOKA Park & Aquarium & Convention Center Nearby There are several dozen small business owners who although not enjoying large metropolis like Oklahoma City enjoy prospered relatively close proximity via services such as grocery shopping local roads offering ample parking supplies pet stores gas stations convenience stores medical facilities etc.........................................Today there remain few if any remaining traces left behind by former generations who madeMIAMI their home...............................

On November 8th of that year, he was elected Mayor of Miami with 52% of the vote over incumbent James Blythe (43%). From then until 1861 when he resigned due to health reasons, Houston led all aspects of municipal government forMiami – including education (1848), street cleaning (1856), fire prevention (1860), zoning (1868), water rights (1875), housing (1890) and public works projects such as building new schools and erecting bridges over major rivers. statistics show thatHouston was mayor for more than 50 years; longer than any other Oklahoman politician In 1861due to health reasonsHouston stepped down from office but continued to serve as Mayor until his death in 1893
