In 1929, Leroy Henson created a "gun sling" out of an old coat hanger and other materials he found around his home that he called the Henson Gun Sling. In 1938, Alonzo Blythe used a folding chair as a makeshift gun sling while hunting deer near Fort Smith, Arkansas. The hunt resulted in him fatally shooting one of the animals with his rifle while it was hanging from the chair

In 1925, President Coolidge established the Panama Canal Zone through executive action because he believed that it would be more advantageous if both countries were connected by water rather than by air routes. Miami was founded in 1836 by Ishmael Jones and his brother James as a small trading post on the Arkansas River. One such man was Lamar Sittles who established himself as a whiskey distiller near Miami in 1912. This led to Sittles becoming known as "The King Of whiskeys" for his production skills within this industry during the1920s-1930s. Miami emerged as a major center for commerce during its time as a small town along the Arkansas River Valley between Tulsa and Jenks (now part of Oklahoma City). Company stores like Sears Roebuck & Co., J C Meyers department store, Buffalo Bill Cody Museum (now called OKC Arts District), Coca Cola Bottling plant, Champion Cigars factory were all active throughout the late 19th century through World War I before moving away or closing down after Prohibition ended in 1933 barring sales to Americans under 21 years old. During World War II manufacturing activity increased significantly due to military procurement needs; bombed-out factories reopened up under new management with operations lasting into 1945 including Champion Cigars’ newly opened facility at Yale Road and 9th Street NW where cigar boxes still line today’s walls from former storage areas used by typewriter parts supplier Wernher Koppert while he managed Allied munitions plants adjacent to Yale Road during World War II! Today southernmost endpoints (just east of Interstate 30) are occupied by abandoned GM tanks that once stood outside Altus Arsenal Ammunition Producers Corporation plant until they were taken down following an explosion there on May 4th 1979!
