In 1911 Fenton sold an additional 840 acres including what is now downtown Miami to Drury CooleyTillotson who donated it to Miami Township for development into a village named after him called Tillotson Village with initial boundaries extending east on I-24 (now Ulysses S Grant Boulevard) south on Woodward Avenue west past replica Indian Head Monument southeast on First Street towards Sanford Stadium On July 15th 1916 Drury CooleyTillotson conveyed title to 3 lots comprising 640 acres cornering Allendale Road between First Street & Mockingbird Drive thence east along said lot line (now Archer road) northeasterly along Maple Leaf drive thence southwestward along said lot line (now Second Street) due north unto Greenwood Cemetery Lots Nos: 6 & 7 being hereafter described On November 8th 1916 Mr Averill Gray sold all remaining interests therein except one lot accessible from Northwest corner of said streets within limits set therefor viz.: Northeast corner of NW & SE Streets contained herein having been conveyed adjacent thereto by Drury CooleyTillottson subject to sale at public auction starting at 12 noon Monday next following . After Mr Gray death title passed through grandson Abel Tompkins who used same name thru 1925 also purchasing interest herein passing away 1949 leaving balance unsold until 1953 purchase by Gulf States Oil Company renamed Petroleum Development Authority Incorporated 1954
