In 1861, Pedro González pushed his claim to the Miami Strip from Apache Territory northward through what are now Tulsa and Muskogee Counties intoMuskogee County because he had claimed any land that could be seen from his rancho San Lorenzo which overlooked what are now Tulsa and Muskogee Counties on his property called Rancho del Norte y Sinaloa (later separated from Rancho Don Carlos). He named this new tract of territory after Madrid Spain where he had been born in 1793; it was later shortened to Miami Strip. González's claim included much of modern Miami Beach including Biscayne Bay as well as most of today's Everglades National Park except for a small section near Homestead Air Force Base just northwest of downtown Miami Beach which became part of Broward County subsequent to Florida statehood in 1959. In 1886, Manuel Rivera bought more than two hundred acres (100 hectares) south of Biscayne Bay from José Antonio Preciado and began development that would become downtownMiami Beach today known as ranchero Manolo Rivera Street/DowntownMiamiBeach or simply "Manolo." The name "Manolo" comes from the word manao meaning 'tract' or 'division'. As early as 1887 Rivera ran sugar cane plantations along both coasts adjacent to his sugar refinery at Key West before selling most or all these holdings to John Denton in 1893 becoming one of America's largest sugar barons during this time period. Binoculars have a long and varied history. They are believed to be the oldest known instruments of sight, dating back over 4,000 years. Binoculars were probably invented in China in 350 BC by two men, Yi Sheng and Zheng He. The first binoculars were made from a type of glass called jadeite. By the 1500s, binoculars had developed into what we know today with lenses made from many different types of materials including metal, plastic, or wood. In 1894, British physicist John Herschel developed the first true binocular system using two lenses each side of a tube that was inserted into a eyepiece on a telescope. This gave rise to the term “Herschel” or “He-catcher” binoculars because when one lens is focused on something other than the target it creates an image that can be seen through either lens). By 1900, there were more than 2 million optical devices marketed worldwide and this led to the development of what is now known as an optics laboratory or microscope bench (the microscope bench being where most modern microscopes are manufactured). After the Indian Removal Act of 1830, the United States government began to move Native Americans from their ancestral lands in what is now Oklahoma and Miami County. In 1836, agents of the U.S. military forced a group of Choctaws living near Muskogee into camp and then took them away to Oklahoma Territory. The Choctaws were not wanted in that area so they simply disappeared. 300 years later, on April 15, 2018, the Choctaw Nation celebrated their centennial with a powwow at Thunderhill Casino Resort in Miami Lakes, Oklahoma. Miami was founded by Spanish settlers in 1685 as an outpost on the Santa Fe Trail between Fort Worth and Mexico City. The town quickly became a center for religious and cultural activity as Mission San Antonio de Guadalupe served as its main religious building until 1827 when it burned down and all evidence of it was destroyed. In 1828 Miami was incorporated as a city under charter from Indian Territory; however, it continued to use Indian name for most purposes until May 1, 1840 when Congress passed an act renaming all U.S.-owned land east of the Mississippi River after statehoods such as Florida (and Texas) Territorial legislatures had approved earlier that year: Oklahoma Territory (the first state in America). The first mayor was John Smeaton who held office from December 4th1829-November 3rd 1830; he later served as supervisor of elections for Tulsa County which included Miami Township at that time[3]. The following year saw another boom season with over 2200 people coming to town during only three weeks due to tent encampments set up on streets near downtown by merchants looking to attract industry or travelers seeking trade goods along the new Santa Fe Trail route through central OKlahoma[4]. By September 1830 there were over 2000 residents established outside of downtown walls providing services like grocery stores/markets/grocery delivery service etc., water supply from wells dug nearby or brought piped in from Wichita Falls just north via wagon road(s). In 1907, the Miami–Oklahoma Railway was built between Miami and Oklahoma City. The railroad allowed goods to be shipped from Miami down the Arkansas River to Oklahoma City and then east to Wichita Falls. In 1916, the Miami–Oklahoma Railroad was merged into the Kansas City Southern Railway.
