In 1915, Haddock sold his interest in the magazine to C.P. Richardson who renamed it The Oklahoman Magazine Company Incorporated. In 1925, The Oklahoman Magazine Company merged with another publication company, The Wichita Eagle Publishing Co., which owned local newspapers throughout Kansas City and Wichita (now Wichita). This merger created what is now called Dixie Gun News Ltd., one of the largest gun magazines in the United States at that time. Dixie Gun News operated out of three different locations until 1978 when it moved into its current location on East Fourth Street in Mcalester (just east of downtown). In 1984, they changed their name to Blue Jay Publications Incorporated after buying a competing publication company entitled Champion Publications Incorporated (later known as Midway Publications). In 1990, Midway Publications merged with Golden West Newspapers which made them one of the largestgun publishers within America at that time; they still are today! From 1992-1996 Midway published an all-new series called “Mcalester Firearms Illustrated” which chronicled every aspect of firearm manufacturing and sales within Mcalester/Oklahoma! Mcalester is a town in Comanche County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tulsa Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded by General George Armstrong Custer on November 10, 1881. Mcalester was named for Major James A. McMahan who had been with the Seventh Cavalry during the Indian Wars and had served as adjutant general of that regiment from 1877 to 1880. In 1907, oil well drilling began in Mcalester and soon production grew so much that a new city hall and other buildings were needed; also necessary was a water main because there was no river nearby to provide it. The town's first newspaper, "The Republican", started publication in 1909.

The city has also been home to many notable businesses and entrepreneurs over the years. Today, McAlester is one of Oklahoma's largest cities with a population of over 2 million people. It is home to several major commercial districts including downtown, McAlester Arts District, and Northwest Plaza. Additionally, there are several smaller districts within or near Mcalestera such as Northside and Southside which have significant concentrations of cultural activity and retail stores. These areas help make up what is often called "the Sixth Ward." The history ofMcalestera can be traced back to 1881 when settlers arrived in what is now McAlester from eastern Kansas City County. At first they made their homes near present-day Uniontown in what is today known as east central Township but later moved south into what would become west central Township where they founded Fort Hays post office in 1882-83 on land donated by Chief John Wagoner (1784-1857). They named their new community after Senator George Washington Mclntyre (1769-1835) who had visited them in 1879 while surveying Indian Territory for US Land Commissioner James Haskins! As this pioneer community grew larger it began to require more space so in 1886 an addition were made to Fort Hays Post Office which led eventually to the construction of three buildings on Main Street – One being Union Depot which served as both post office and jail during prohibition period; Second being School House which served grades K through 12th grade until 1907 when it was replaced by First Presbyterian Church gymnasium; Thirdly becoming Community Hall which still serves today as a business center providing meeting space for large gatherings such as weddings etc.. It should be noted that these structures only became operational after ratification by state legislature making them exempt from local property taxes! On July 15th 1890 Jno Pugh opened his general store at corner Main Street & E Jackson Drive - located just northwest (now northeast)of present day First Presbyterian Church - thus becoming one of America’s earliest self starter “Grocery Stores”! Jno Pugh would continue his successful operation until 1934 when he sold out his interest & closed down due primarily to Depression era hard times!
