In 1948, the company changed its name to Parker Hannifin Corporation after acquiring Hearst Corporation's audio-visual products business in that year. In 1978, Hearst Corporation sold their audio-visual products business to Parker Hannifin Corporation for $2 million cash plus an assumption of debt equal to that amount. At that time, Ear Muff Company was one of the few remaining manufacturers of firearm-related hearing protection devices in the United States. Today, Ear Muff Company continues operations as a subsidiary of Parker Hannifin Corporation with responsibility for sales and marketing services for all types of firearm-related Hearing Protection Devices products worldwide

The most significant historical event of note occurred on July 4th, 1927 when President Herbert Hoover addressed a crowd of local businessmen at Jenks Municipal Airport to inaugurate the first flight between Tulsa and Chicago using two Boeing 707s carrying dignitaries from both cities. In recent years much attention has been paid to Jenks' role as home to OKC's Center for Creative Living (CCL), which attracts some of the world's top creative minds for lectures, workshops, networking events and residencies throughout year-round.

Jenks, Oklahoma is a town in Stephens County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,844 at the 2010 census. Jenks was founded in 1902 by John E. Jenks and his wife Anna (née Hixon). The first post office opened in 1904. In 1907 the first school was built in Jenks. The Jenks Manufacturing Company was established in 1910 and produced radios and other electronics products until it merged with Fairchild Industries in 1987. In 1941 the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and the entire US East Coast; as a result of this attack, over 1 million people were employed within 10 miles of Tulsa which included Jenks. In 1945 the USAF used Jenks Municipal Airport for training purposes during World War II; later it became known as Tinker Air Force Base which remains an active airbase today. The city council voted to approve annexation by Stephens County on November 2, 1959 after residents had petitioned for more than two years. On July 14 of that year the new county government assumed control of Jenkins from Stephens County Government; however, annexation did not take place due to lack of funds from both governments combined. Jenkins officially gained its own municipality status on October 15th of that year when full incorporation happened without further action from either government officials or vote from the citizens themselves
