From 1945-49 (during World War II), Guymon suffered extensive damage whenbombing raids took place; however fortunately most of what resulted was minor demolition work 😉 In 1957-58 ( amidstiscovernmentagentactivitiesinOklahomacityand elsewhere), Guymon’s biggest challenge yet arrived when water levels rose too high on nearby Little Rock Creek; consequently much of downtown were flooded including several business districts!
