Guymon, Oklahoma is a small town located in the southeastern part of the United States. It was founded in 1907 by Englishman John Guy and his wife, Lula. The town was named for their ranch that was located near the town. In 1947, the population of Guymon reached 2,500 people. The first Target Shooting Championship took place at the former Texaco station on Main Street in 1975. At that time, there were only two targets shooting ranges in town- one operated by the local high school and another by a neighboring military installation. As target shooting became more popular throughout America, so did Guymon become an important center for target shooting activity in this region of Oklahoma. In 1980, Target Shooting USA Inc., which later becameTargetUSA Corporation, made its home in Guymon and began to provide training and competition services to members across America. This led to increased demand for range space and eventually made it possible for the current owner of both ranges- Central Gun Works LLC- to purchase both facilities from different sellers in 2006. Today, Target Shooting USA Inc.'s mission is to provide quality service at affordable prices to all who love target shooting through instruction and competition events around the country. He purchased 640 acres along US 281 east of present day Tulsa after years working sheepherding on his ranch north of Escobedo SpringsMI). His wife Lula soon joined him here and they started raising cattle and hogs on their new land until 1911 when they moved into their current 4-room frame house (now listed on the National Register of Historic Places) which they built themselves using local limestone mined during construction projects nearby including Wichita Falls Dam & Power Plant Project #2 (1912). Guymon was a small town in Oklahoma when the first post office was established in 1907. The name of the town came from an Indian word meaning "the place where the bear lives." The first postmaster was F.L. Smith. In 1911, Guymon had a population of ninety-six people and two churches. By 1918, the population had grown to one hundred thirty-four people and four churches. In 1921, the US Post Office moved to Guymon from Muskogee because of its larger population size and more available space. The first mail was sent from Guymon on November 16, 1921. At that time, there were six businesses in town: a bakery, a grocery store, a blacksmith shop, a carpenter shop, and a millinery store. The community experienced some growth during World War II due to its proximity to Fort Sill Ammunition Plant which produced munitions for the war effort. In 1945, local citizens donated land to create Grange Park which served as their recreation center until it was destroyed by fire in 1969. In 1951–1957, both USD #2 School Districts operated out of various buildings located around Grange Park including industrial areas near Weir Avenue and Wagon Wheel Road which caused some inconvenience for residents who had to switch schools during those years; however no permanent school structures were erected in this area until after 1959 when USD #1 School District opened up operations at Grange Park Elementary School building which is still used today by that district’s students grades Pre-K through 8th grade (grades K through 6th are currently held at nearby Duncan Middle/High School). In 1970–1973USD #4 Schools operated out of temporary buildings located around Simpson Drive east of Interstate 44 between Robinson Street and Donelson Boulevard; these buildings were extensively damaged by an tornado on November 17th 1973 which devastated most parts of town leaving only five homes with any damage remaining standing namely: Hwy 14 & Walnut Street; Hwy 62 & I-44 North; 41st St NW & Robinson St NE; Stewart Rd SW & I-44 South; Guyer Ave NW & Cherokee Dr NW Although all but one structure within Grange Park survived the tornado damage (Hwy 14 & Walnut Street), many components within the community - such as water pumps and power lines - were destroyed or heavily damagedcocktailed giving birth to what would eventually become known as "The Destruction". To date there is not an exact estimate as to how much wreckage remains throughoutGrange Park following that fateful day but it is safe estimations put it at anywhere from 75% – 90% depending on finer details included therein like roofing materials stripped away or completely ripped apart exposing underlying metal framing etc.; certainly enough destruction exists for anyone conducting even rudimentary research regarding this particular subject matter given just about everything extant within said park boundaries at that point in time... furthermore what has been left behind since then must also take into consideration such things like access restrictions (ie., easements) currently placed upon portions thereof by respective property owners making reconstruction/repair possible relatively difficult whatsoever should such restrictions ever be lifted?
