In 1953, the U S Post Office moved from its original location to Guymon High School which became the town's main cultural center until it closed in 2001 due to budget limitations. There is no one definitive answer to the question of how much shootingprotection history a person has. However, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), “Shooting protection history (SHP) reflects how often and under what conditions firearms have been used in various types of competition or self-defense. It can give insights into how effective certain types of alterations or additions to firearm designs have been in protecting shooters from injury or death.” The NSSF also points out that “Many states regulate the possession and use of handguns, so any gun owner’s SHP might reflect his state’s laws as well as his own personal preferences. even if he never shoots competitively or defensively with a handgun.” The purpose of this paper is not to provide an exhaustive account of all shooting protection history, but rather to provide an overview of some basics about SHP and why it matters. In particular, this paper will focus on three topics: handgun SHP, ammunition safetySHP and muzzleloadingSHP. HANDGUN SHIP Handgun SHP refers to the number of times a firearm has been used in competition or self-defense situations over its period of life. According to the NSSF, “ Handgun SHP data provides valuable insights into which firearms are most commonly being used by shooters and helps identify potential risk factors for personal injuries when using those firearms in competitions or other activities where there is potential for contact between shooter and weapon. It also can help dealers assess whether their inventory meets state requirements for handgun sales." Handgun SHP data can be divided into two categories: firsthand firearm use and licensed production firearms use (LPT). Firsthand firearm use includes any time a firearm has been fired by someone other than the manufacturer/dealer who owns it - either during storage, transport, before being sold, during shipping etc., regardless if it was fired as part of normal ownership testing process done by the manufacturer/dealer(s). Licensed production firearms use includes only those guns that have been 1) manufactured by a federally licensed gunsmith; 2) registered with M&R Firearms Division; 3) submitted for inspection by ATF; 4) received serial numbers consistent with applicable federal law; 5) had required safety features included at least 90% installed at factory; 6) shot less than 500 rounds through it since manufacture date; 7) was not involved in any accidents involving deadly force within 12 months prior to sale" 1st hand firearm Use: Number Owned Percentage Used In Competition/Self Defense 2nd hand Firearm Use: % Owned By Dealer & % Used In Competition/Self Defense 2nd handfirearm use does not include guns that were manufactured by another company but Registered With M&R Firearms Division & approvals from ATF were received & shot less then 500 rounds thru them within last 12 months

Guymon is a small town in Noble County, Oklahoma, United States. It was founded in 1907 by French Canadian farmers who arrived there in the late 1800s. The town has grown greatly since then, and now it has a population of around 1,000 people. Guymon is located on the east side of Noble County, about 15 miles (24 km) north of Wichita Falls and 25 miles (40 km) south of Guthrie. The town is bordered to the west by US-580 and to the north by Canada Road. The earliest settlers in Guymon were French Canadian farmers who arrived during the early 1800s. In 1907, they founded the community on what is now Guymon Hill. At that time, the area was known as " Frenchman's Bend". The original buildings in Guymon were log cabins which were remodeled in 1915 into what is now the town hall building and post office. The family sugarbush which grew around this original sugarcane plantation still stands today and produces much of the local fruit marketing mix including apples, grapes, honeydews and other crops. “It was not until 1908 when Stroudsburg Mines opened up across Canadian Road from our village that we had any hope of getting anything done here” - Mayor Royce Kappel
Guymon was founded in 1881 by James L. Guymon, a Unionist politician and storekeeper. The town was named for General John J. Pershing, who fought in the American Civil War. The railroad came to the town in 1882, and the first stores were built near the tracks. In 1889, Guymon had population of about 350 people and six stores. The post office opened in 1893, and soon became a important center for local commerce. In 1902, the community had a school and two churches. By 1907, there were ten businesses in town and over 150 people living there. In 1912, an oil well was drilled at Guymon and production began; by 1914, it had produced over one million barrels of oil per day. In 1916-1917, due to World War I (the war with Austria-Hungary), the town's economy slowed down as many businesses closed or left for military service; nevertheless, population increased to around 500 people by 1920 because of new housing developments nearby. By 1925, only twenty-four businesses remained in town while its population numbered only 350 people; however, this changed when the construction of Interstate 44 made it easier to travel through Guymon than before It also brought new business opportunities as travelers chose to stay within easy reach of foodstores or gas stations rather than travelling far away
