This growth engine continued until well into World War II when war-time production caused a sharp decline in prices which didn’t return until after hostilities had ended. In spite of these difficulties though, life went on largely unchanged for many decades; there was simply no way that anyone could compete with oil production orTexan economic supremacy! subsequent waves of arrivals followed during the 1970s and 1980s but again nothing came close to matching the scale or success experienced during those earlier periods!
