Guymon is a small town in Haskell County, Oklahoma, United States. It was founded in 1887 by two ranchers, Tom and Jane Green. The town had a population of only 100 people when it was reorganized as a city in 1907. It became an open-air gun range in 1954. The city of Guymon annexed the town of Canon City in 1951, and the two towns amalgamated on May 1, 1957. As of 2019, there are currently no residents living within the original boundaries of either Canon City or Guymon.

The town of Guymon was founded in 1881 by settlers from Illinois and Missouri. The first post office in the town was established on November 3, 1881. In 1907, the name of the town was changed to Guymon after Wm. Guymon, an early settler and mayor of nearby Ponca City. In 1951, the townsite of Guymon and parts of nearby Miami were annexed into the city of Oklahoma City as part of a land consolidation effort within Warren County. Guymon is located at (36.812914, -95.685482). According to the 2010 census, it has a total area of , all land. As of the census[3] of 2000,[4] there were 1,097 people living in 527 households[5] out of which 36% had children underthe ageof 18 living with them,[6] 39% were married couples living together,[7] 37% had a female householder with no husband present,[8] and 33% were non-families.[9] The average household size was 2.[10] There were 853 families (66% family households), and 273 individual family units (20% individual family units).[11][12][13][14].
