Guymon is located in Muskogee County, Oklahoma and has a population of over 2,000. The town was founded in 1881 by Dutch settlers. In 1903, the townsite was surveyed and named for General James H. Guymon, Jr., commander of American forces during World War I. In 1923, the post office moved from its original location to what is now the old bank building on Main Street. The first store in town opened in 1914 and quickly became a popular local source for goods and services. By 1922, there were six businesses in town with a total sales volume of $1 million. Gun stores started to open up around this time as well and gun safety became an important concern among residents. The early 1920s saw some significant changesimprovements to the way guns were stored and used within the community such as installation of locks on all doors and gates leading into town square. In 1938, when World War II began, the United States government placed restrictions on the ownership of firearms within state borders due to fears that they could be used by Nazi Germany or other Axis nations against America's allies. As a result, many people in Guymon chose to arm themselves instead of waiting for orders from authorities. This decision led to increased crime rates within the community as people who were not licensed or registered with gun dealers were able to buy firearms without any restrictions or oversight. Guns continued to be sold openly throughout the war years until 1947 when laws changed again which made it illegal for anyone under 21 years old to possess any type of firearm without a license or registration number (a practice which continues today). This change also resulted in increased regulation on ammunition production as well which caused prices for ammo to increase significantly throughout the postwar period. In 1971, after nearly fifty years of continuous growth atGuymon Town Hall - one of Tulsa’s most iconic buildings – Main Street was renamed “Gun Street” in honor of then-Mayor John Wintney Sr.. At this time (and continuing through today), Gun Street sees more than just retail storefronts; it also houses several public agencies including police departments (one housed inside City Hall until recently), fireplaces where citizens can watch televised sporting events while smoking cigars or cigarettes (currently being challenged by cigar smokers who argue that smoking indoors increases your riskof lung cancer), movie theaters (including both small independent films screened outdoors near downtown along with large blockbusters like Transformers: Dark OfThe Moon), restaurants serving primarilywestern food (such as Subway)andseveral private businesses including three law offices/publishers plus two tattoo parlors/bars/restaurants located adjacentto each other on GunStreet between Second Avenue East and Third Avenue EastirtingMain Street). Today’sGunStreet features numerous renovated buildings dating back totwo centuries includingthe former jail built circa 1892 & remodeled circa 1930;the Masonic Temple built ca1890;an insurance company building built c1940;the hospital built 1916 & remodeled 1945; apothecary built 1887 & remodeled 1928; whirlpool water heater constructed 1907&installed 1951&renovated 1978 etc.) As described earlier, GunStreet has seen many changesover time – some good(ease of accessto weapons / ammo / public transportation /etc.), somebad(increased crime rates / lack thereof ability tobuild relationships with neighboring communities / zoning changes which have limited commerical potential) - but overall it has been an important partof Tulsa's history since its founding more than 125 years ago."

Guymon is a small town in the Oklahoma Panhandle, located on the banks of the Arkansas River. The population was 2,241 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Muskogee County, Oklahoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. Guymon was founded in 1892 by George Guymon and his wife Esther Lamphere. The name comes from an Indian word meaning "clear water." In 1907, George Guymon and his son Harry bought land east of town and began to build a community called "Guymon Mills." They used logs for building materials and hauled them to their site by wagon train. In 1915, they built a large wooden bridge across the river which became known as the "Great Bridge". In 1934, Guymon incorporated as a city. In 1951 it changed its name to "Guymon", after President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal speech that named American cities for citizens who had played an active role in helping make America great again. The city has grown steadily over the years with population growth rates topping 10% each decade since 1970. By 2000, there were 710 residents living in downtown; today’s downtown offers many shops and services as well as ample parking for bicyclists or cars alike. In 2017 there was once again another mass Shooting with 3 dead bodies found inside Las Vegas hotel room connected with Paddock(the worst property damage ever caused by an act motivated by terrorism)). Guymon, Oklahoma is a small town located in theTip Top Valley region of eastern Oklahoma. The population was 1,737 at the 2000 census. The community was named for J.D. Guymon, an entrepreneur who operated a general store and post office there from 1907 until his death in 1930. The Tip Top Valley area was first populated by Native Americans who hunted and gathered plants and animals on high hills in what is now northeast OKLAHOMA COUNTY. In 1867, US explorer James Hance discovered the valley while exploring the Santa Fe Trail north of Tulsa. He named it "Guymon" after J.D. Guymon, an entrepreneur who operated a general store and post office in the area from 1907 until his death in 1930. In 1902, Wahoo Oil Company founder John Denton leased land east of present-day Guymon to build a refinery which would produce gasoline and other products for local industries such as farming and mining; however, this project failed to materialize because of oil companies' lack of interest in Oklahomans during that period. In 1924, William Pyle organized the Cowboy Cowboys Club which styled itself as "the only true American Legion." This organization staged rodeos all over western OKLAHOMA County every weekend to raise money for military service Causes such as veterans' benefits or First World War donations; this event became known as "Pyle's Roundup." In 1928, Pyle sold his share of the ranch to Jens Ludwig (1893-1978), one of America's leading cattlemen; Ludwig continued to operate it until he sold it to Standard Oil Corporation in 1967. In 1954, local resident Ozzie Newsome opened the first drive-in movie theater in what is now Guymon when popcorn services were available through phone booths throughout most of rural OKLAHOMA county; this theater served as the nucleus around which future business operations developed including restaurant/pizza parlors which replaced drive-ins beginning around 1960s whenhanke theatres became more prevalent due to popular culture preference for large screens over smaller ones while theaters decreased prices associated with 5 screen multiplex theaters becoming more commonplace across North America during that time period

The town was named after the nearby Wichita Mountains and the Guymons were instrumental in its development. The town had a population of 100 people when it was incorporated on February 17, 1907. By 1920, the population had grown to 335 people. The post office was established in 1909 and closed in 1945. In 1925, the first high school opened in Guymon and it served as the local branch of Haskell Community School District until 1959. In 1948, a junior high school also opened and served as the local branch of Haskell Community School District until 1962.
